Under the art direction of Dr. Beth Altringer of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard, I undertook a series of short movies about the way people think about food. There’s abundant vocabulary to describe the visual arts, but flavor literacy is much more elusive. Each of the three shorts, each between three and six minutes in length, focused on a local, chef-owned restaurant. Through interviews, hands-on demonstrations, and animated diagrams, I aimed to capture their unique approaches to designing what we eat. I was responsible for photography, videography, storyboarding, animation, editing, and text.
